Layers of the Atmosphere
- Troposphere: lowest part of the atmosphere stretching from the surface of the earth up 5-11 miles depending on how close it is to the equator.
-Most weather also occurs in this layer
- Stratosphere: Second layer of the atmosphere starts at top of Troposphere and goes up 30 miles.
-The air in this layer is not very dense.
- Mesosphere: Layer above the Stratosphere, air is very thin and the temperature decreases as you go higher.
- Thermosphere: Layer above the mesosphere, the temperature here is very hot due to gasses and ultraviolet radiation.
- Exosphere: The final layer of earths atmosphere, it is very thin and is the layer where the atmosphere merges with interplanetary space.
